A 34-year-old woman was reportedly found living inside the sign of a supermarket in Midland, Michigan, where she had allegedly been living for almost a year.

The woman was found by contractors working on the Family Fare grocery store in Midland. To their surprise, the 34-year-old woman was living inside the rooftop sign, according to the Midland Daily News. Police reportedly nicknamed her the “Rooftop Ninja.”

“I’ve never seen anything like this before in my career,” Midland Police Department Public Relations Officer Brennon Warren told Midland Daily News.

The unnamed woman reportedly lived in the Midland Family Fare sign for close to a year and had a mini desk, flooring and a houseplant, according to Midland Daily News.

She has a job, although not with Family Fare, the outlet reported. The supermarket reportedly agreed to help gather her belongings from the sign. (RELATED: Man Who Allegedly Told Cops He Wanted To ‘Blow Up’ Satanic Temple Indicted On Explosives Charges)

The woman was believed to be homeless, prompting her to set up camp inside the supermarket sign, Warren told the Daily Caller. She was removed from the business and no criminal charges were filed against her, Warren said. Authorities offered her housing assistance, but police said the woman declined.
